It features a sandstorm engine, a multiplayer mode, and a variety of weapons and equipment. The game takes place in Dubai, and the natural sandstorms of the country factor into the gameplay. The sandstorm engine randomizes when and where sandstorms arise, and how harsh they will be. Sandstorms have a variety of effects; they could open or close a path, and they could even help turn the tides of a firefight. Yager Development has also announced that the game will have a multiplayer mode. Though details are scarce, the multiplayer mode will be a campaign that expands the single player experience. Spec Ops: The Line will have a variety of weapons and equipment for the player to access. As the player progresses in the campaign, they will gain access to better weapons and equipment, making missions easier. When compared to previous games in the Spec Ops series, The Line keeps the core gameplay, while including enhanced graphics as well as some new gameplay elements.
