Need For Speed: Nitro

Need for Speed: Nitro is a fast-paced racing video game developed by EA Montreal and published by Electronic Arts during the third quarter of 2009 for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS platforms. The 15th+ installment in the highly successful ‘Need for Speed’ series, “Need for Speed: Nitro” handles the series’ formula differently than its predecessors by presenting different control options, changeable gameplay elements, and a unique art system that allows the user to customize their own auto designs.

Essentially, Nitro is geared for casual camers, versus hardcore ‘Need for Speed’ fans. Controls can be eased for simplification, allowing less-experienced racing gamers to also partake in the ‘Need for Speed’ experience. Another notable feature of ‘Need for Speed: Nitro’ is its exaggerated racing models, which share more similarity with classics like ‘Mario Cart’ versus its own peers.
