Set in Sao Paolo, Brazil, users control Max as he works in a private security force for a wealthy family. Daytime settings are much more prevalent than in the rest of the MP series, with a number of never-before-seen tactical maneuvers including human shields and near-death kill tactics. The infamous "Bullet Time" feature has been updated to include "Environmental Bullet Time", a mode in which players retain full control of Max while time passes in slow motion. Players can also scale walls and climb fences, with "kill cam"-style replays incorporated for reviewing certain stylistic murders after they happen. Max Payne 3 also features the return of James McCaffrey for both voice and acting credits, with a full component of motion-captured controls and cutscenes for optimal realism.
