Marvel vs Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
$15.00
Released March, 2000
The Pros:Huge amount of characters and support types to choose from, leading to an insane number of unique teams. Detailed sprite-based graphics and stunning attacks keeps the game visually appealing. Simplified controls (compared to other Capcom fighters) make it easier for new players to learn characters.
The Cons:Very unbalanced - only a half-dozen or so characters out of over fifty ever see tourney play, with some characters being near completely useless. New players might find six characters all jumping in and out and attacking to be excessively chaotic. Simplified combos all centered around launchers and air rushes sometimes gets tedious.
Sequel to the popular yet bizarre fighting game, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 ups the ante with many more playable characters and new techniques. Players choose a team of three characters from a wide selection of both characters from Capcom games and superheroes from the Marvel universe.

One character is controlled at a time, the other ones able to be called in to preform assist attacks (which are chosen at the start of the match) or to tag in and switch with the controlled character. Originally released on the Arcade, the game was ported to the Dreamcast, Playstation 2 and Dreamcast, where it became a tourney mainstay. Recently, the game was ported again to the Xbox 360 Arcade and Playstation Network, where single player campaigns were stripped in favor for online play. With 56 characters to choose from leading to insane amounts of unique competition, MvC2 has stayed popular with fans for nearly a decade.
