In battle, each character is assigned a button, you press this button to attack (when it is your turn in battle) and to dodge or counterattack ( when its your enenmie's turn). Instead of Bros. Attacks like in the last game, the pair of plumbers now use Bros. Items. It is a fairly long game, and is a rare in the fact that you may laugh out loud while playing.
