A sequel to 2K8, Major League Baseball 2K9 boasts boast several improvements such as simplified ‘2-step’ pitching, a more intelligent AI, influence hitting for controlling fly/ground balls, a more realistic ballpark, live rosters, an enhanced stat simulation engine, and advanced in-game replays with SFX and graphic overlays. These improvements, however, only apply to the Windows, PS3, and Xbox 360 versions. In regards to the Wii, users can use the Wii for ‘Wiimote pitching” and the Nanchuck for ‘Wiimote hitting”. As for the Playstation 2, players can manage up to four baseball franchises simultaneously. And the PSP version sports ‘True to Form Fielding” for enhanced fielding control. Overall, 2K9 is essentially a tweaked up version of the 2K8 and retails for $59.99.
