Infamous is a third-person sandbox video game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in June of 2009 for the Playstation 3. It follows Cole McGrath, a bike messenger from ‘Empire City’ who receives ‘electricity-based’ powers after a deadly explosion goes off and the city falls into disarray.

The player’s job is to lead Cole on his journey to eventually rid the city of the evil that has overtaken it. This is done by slowly learning to use Cole’s powers, such as the ability to shoot electricity to kill living targets and also animate objects. As Infamous is a sandbox game, players are also offered the option to partake in side-missions to either increase or decrease their karma (depending on actions taken), thereby affecting their powers. Good karma boasts some skills, whereas bad karma boasts others. Infamous comes on a Blu-ray disc, only offers a single-player mode, and utilizes a PS3 gamepad for gameplay. Lastly, Infamous retails for $59.99.
