Harvest Moon: Animal Parade

$50.00 Released November, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Fans of the Harvest Moon games will feel right at home as this installment stays pretty true to the franchise. Lots of stuff to do (grow crops, mine for ore, get married) and most of it is available right from the start. Use of motion controls is rare but this was a good choice as the mostly button-oriented control layout feels pretty intuitive.

The Cons:Lack of objectives or direction can be pretty intimidating for those new to the series. Tends to get very repetitive as routine is the backbone of the game. Suffers from a lot of framerate issues despite the less-than-stellar graphics.

Harvest Moon: Animal Parade is a farming simulation game released for the Nintendo Wii in 2009. It is the latest release in the Harvest Moon series and holds many similar traits with its most recent predecessor, Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility.

Users can play as either a boy or girl, as well as choose either the main characters of Animal parade or Tree of Tranquility. The goal is to bring the Harvest King back to the island and help revive the Goddess’ tree and land. To do this, players must tame wild/exotic animals; take their pets on walks and teach them tricks; take care of their pets/animals; grow crops; expand their farm; and eventually build a family. And building a family involves much more than a simple click, as users must locate an eligible bachelor/bachelorette, court them, and eventually marry.
