The Pros:Epic in proportion; nearly limitless ways to play. Unsharded world, all players are on the same 'server'. Graphics.
The Cons:HUGE learning curve, even for the MMO familiar. Most interaction is with and through various ships. Player "characters" aren't much more than a postage-stamp sized avatar, makes the game less personable. Fixed experience system can be frustrating for beginers.

#eve_online Yeah, I can't say enough good things about eve. A story which sums up some (but not all) of the insanity which is eve.
I just love how the whole world is on eve, depending on where you're flying in space, it's a good idea to have a person who speaks german with you, especially if you play early in the morning. The germans are generally very helpful, and many have large alliances(player organizations which control space) which will grant you a degree of safe haven, they also have a few people in their organization who speak english if you need to conduct formal bussiness negotiations with them on a large scale. The reds however... hooo boy, if you don't speak russian you are kill on sight as far as they are concerned. The red alliance controlls a huge hunk of space over to the west side of the galaxy, don't go near it unless you want a fight, and a big one at that. Because of the vast, persistant, and player controlled world, imersion in eve can be incredibly deep.

#eve_online I played this game for ~6months, and would probably still be playing it if I knew people in real life that played too. To me, thats what makes an MMO the most fun. If you like sci fi, at least try this game; you can dl and play for free w/the free trial. This was even my first MMO.
