Like other games in the series, players will use the DS stylus to chop, grate, slice, stir, spread, sprinkle, roll, and much more in over 200 different mini-games all focused on following recipes to make a variety of dishes. There are 80 new recipes including chili con carne, mushroom quiche, Eggs Benedict, tulip chicken, pumpkin gnocchi, and many more. There are 6 game modes, included some new gameplay modes such as shopping mode where you try to find needed ingredients while avoiding belligerent shoppers, and if you bump into one you will enter a mini-game to collect items knocked out from your cart. Another new addition is the ability to create new dishes borrowing steps and ingredients from other recipes.
