The game takes off quickly, going from one hunt to the next, using regular checkpoints so that if a hunt is botched the player can bounce back to the last auto-save and try again. One issue with the gameplay is that all though the areas are large and free roaming, occasionally the game divides sections with invisible walls that you have to backtrack to get around to the next area. Fishing is a mini-game that is included within the hunting package, but it doesn't present much difficulty or challenge. Cabela's Outdoor Adventure was released on multiple platforms including the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii.
